Bayanivation has partnered with three local government units (LGUs) for its pilot run from 2020-2021: Pasig City in Luzon, Sipalay City in Visayas, and Del Carmen, Siargao in Mindanao.
Aside from the three local government units, we also partnered with key government agencies including the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) of the Philippines.
Pasig City is one of the highly urbanized cities in Metro Manila. Although it is emerging as one of fastest growing commercial and financial centers in the Philippines, there is still room for improvement for Pasig City. Initial consultations with the local government revealed that one of their focus areas for improvement in the city is their public market.
Bayanivation gathered 26 youth fellows from different barangays of Pasig City to participate in the Bayanivation Bootcamp. On the other hand, the LGU invited 23 key stakeholders consisting of market vendors, association officers, and LGU personnel to participate alongside the Youth Fellows.
The Youth Fellows and key stakeholders co-created solutions for the Pasig Mega Market, as previously agreed with the LGU. Specifically, the Bayanivation Challenge for Pasig City was “How might we reimagine the Pasig City Mega Market?”
