Innovation for, by, and with the people

“And, yes, democracy is hard.  We all know that.  It works best with consensus and cooperation.  When people and parties that might have opposing views sit down and find ways to work together, things begin to work.”

– President Joe Biden, 46th President of the United States
Summit for Democracy, Dec 9-10, 2021

Bayanivation aims to strengthen democracy in the Philippines by bringing together citizens, public servants, youth leaders and empowering them to co-create solutions to address their community challenges.

Barangays are at the forefront of public service delivery across the country.

We believe that if we enable and empower barangay leaders to be more effective, efficient, and innovative, we are also directly improving the lives of the thousands of people that they are sworn to serve in their local communities.

Bayanivation 2.0 now combines both the power of data and design for public sector innovation.

Using Mabini PH, a radically simple web and mobile-based technology that enables barangays to digitize simple government transactions and to easily collect data, the Top 20 barangays will be tasked to collect quantitative data, along with qualitative interviews.

They will use the data they gathered to improve and refine their solution ideas.

All the top 20 barangays will be given free access to the Mabini tool for the rest of the acceleration program.
